3rd Week of Racing Completed - So Close!
Marlo Motorsports Driver Kyle Mitchell looked as if he was going to cruise to his first feature win of the season Friday night but trying to get through lapped traffic with 5 laps to go, he found himself in the inside wall after being tagged from behind by the 2nd place car.
Mitchell had taken the lead on lap 12 and looked dominant until the crash on lap 20 that sent him to the back of the 18 car field. He rallied back however to finish in 8th position which was good enough to hang on to 3rd spot in the 600r Driver Standings after 3 races. He qualified 4th, finsihed 2nd in his heat and recorded the fastest lap of all competitors in the feature event. This should bode well moving forward as the 76 PMP has been getting better each week.
Brett Mitchell made his Deming Speedway in the 76 Junior Sprint and picked up a heat race win his first time out. Bradley Parks had driven the 76 car the first 2 races and will likely be back behind the wheel this Friday.
For the 76 Racing crew, Eli Schmidt qualified 3rd before running into mechanical troubles in his 600r heat race preventing him from starting the main event. Chase Schmidt in the 600 Open Class, had fuel pump issues sideline his car after the B main and kept him out of the feature. Schmidt was coming off his first 600 open win the previous Friday.
